Yesterday at Cluny was a busy day, we had stag groups in doing activities during the day, familys up in the kids area, and a kids party. The kids can’t keep away! They seem to be having so much fun!
Last night we had a 21st birthday party at 7pm which went brilliantly! Everyone loved the food, they had a buffet which had a fantastic selection to choose from both hot and cold, and the family brought their own homemade cupcakes which were a brilliant touch.
The DJ played a great range of music for all ages and the party thoroughly enjoyed themselves!
As you will all know we had really bad winds at the weekend and as a result of this, the new poly tunnels over the hay has been blown off. This was up to prevent them from getting damaged by the rain so for now we are having to cover them manually (which we used to do). Because now the frame is visible to children we advise them not to swing on this as it could cause serious injury if they fall, we are getting this repaired asap so please be aware of this kids!
On another note, the weather up here is awful today but hopefully it clears up soon as we have the kids summer camp on today and it really does not feel like summer haha! The kids are taking part in archery and clay pigeon shooting today and although the weather is not great they are having a brilliant time.
Everyone please give a warm welcome back to George White our clay pigeon shooting instructor. He has been off as he has been getting treatment on his eyes and unfortunately could not do much until they were fully healed.
Also little kittens have been found living up near the high tower in the shooting range, so please be careful around them. They have found shelter in a cardboard box where there mum is staying with them.
More news from the cluny team, yesterday we had the rotary club in doing some shooting and having lunch, they had a fantastic time!
Also we are getting some great feedback on our new menu, thanks everyone! It’s great to see most of you love the new improvements we have made to it. As we are going for the Healthy Living Award we needed to add some more healthy options to our menu and more of a variety for kids, so now you little kiddies have your very own menu which includes starters, main courses and scrummy desserts for you all to enjoy!
On another note kids, Marty the pony is getting better… his foot infection is clearing up quickly and he should be making his way up to our kids area anytime soon, we will keep you all posted!
Yesterday at Cluny we had a little bit of a disaster with our Marquee outside in the play area. As we had gale force winds up here it was lucky Laura spotted the Marquee lifting from the ground and ran to prevent it crashing into the side of the restaurant, Bill also ran to Laura rescue and the two of them were practically hanging from it as the winds were so strong, after 20 minutes someone else came to help them out and then most of cluny staff came out to save this marquee from smashing our windows! So a big well done to everyone who helped out during the Marquee incident as it could have done some serious damage!
Now folks, I guess most of you will have heard by now that Marty the pony is poorly with a bad foot infection and won’t be doing any pony rides at Cluny for a few weeks.
We are happy to let you all know that he will be doing the pony rides for kids when he is back fit and well.
Any kids who would like to know how Marty is doing, please send him an email as he can still type it’s just his little feet that are sore! Send him an email at enquiries@clunyevents.co.uk and he will get back to you!

Yesterday Adam Smith College paid us a visit to indulge in some activities, They took part in clay pigeon shooting, archery, air rifle shooting and golf - half an hour of each.
They all had a great time and done extremely well in the groups they were in.
After they had finished 3 activities they went on to have lunch then took part in the golf driving range - there last activity of the day.
There were 3 winners, 1 for cps, archery and rifles. Who all got a mars bar!

The Game and Wildlife Conservation was here at Cluny today hosting a variety of activities. They had a pigeon decoy and also ferret handling outside the driving range area, were helping out with the archery and air rifle instruction, dog handling at the Honda pilot field and also a catapult stall in the archery hall. It was a great success but the weather did really let us down!!
The woodside boys club were also here tonight, having a meal and doing their presentation in our lounge. They enjoyed themselves thoroughly and the kids especially loved the play area and the golf driving range as they were supplied with golf balls for them to use.
We have another busy weekend next week so hopefully the weather has improved!!
During the summer we are thinking about getting some hens up here at Cluny, we are thinking about putting them somewhere near the kids play area in a cage so they are visible to everyone. Although they will be there to look at, you wont be able to touch them for health and safety reasons.
On another note Ian and Heather were at the Markinch games on sunday (in the pouring rain) although the weather was bad it was still quite busy. They were instructing Archery and it all went really well.
The straw mountain in the kids area has just got better! All the grounds team have put up a metal frame over the hay bales and covered it with a clear, plastic covering to protect it from all kinds of weather. So no matter how much it rains or even snows (let’s hope we don’t see any of that for a while!) your kids can still run wild in the play area and climb for all their might on the straw mountain.
Have a look…

Tonight at Cluny we have Lynebank Hospital in doing activities.. clay pigeon shooting, archery and air-rifle shooting. Also we have a shooting competition so we will let you know tomorrow how it went and who the winner is!
Owen (Chef) has just got a new bike as part of his new keep fit regime! Cycing to and from work, we will keep you posted on how he gets on!
Remembere the road B922 is closed for 5 weeks which runs through kinglassie, we are still open as usual!
